Sandy: wow - excellent job on this! We're still trying to get something decent of one of these guys, and you've pulled it off with two! Great decisions in the field and in processing, as usual. Nice job handling the contrast between shadow detail and highlights, and great angle/point of view. Congrats!

Nice one, you get to see front and back of these guys and both nice and sharp. Like the setting and low angle. Well done. :toast:

I like the position of the two birds Sandy. Nice natural surroundings too. Both birds look sharp in the larger version. Nicely done.

Sandy, I love owls and like this a lot. Looks like the parent(?) on the right had been giving the youngster a talking to and you interrupted the conversation..hence the backward glare.... Both birds in focus is great with the contrasting looks and views.

Excellent. Always a favorite subject. Nice seeing these in grass (most her in AZ are in brown settings).

Where did you take this?

Sandy, You obviously surprised the owl on the left and upset the owl on the right. I agree that you handled the lighting very well and you composition is spot on. My wife and I enjoy this image a lot.

Really nice image, Sandy. I like the eye contact from both, yet the difference in the eye positions makes them appear completely different. Nice low angle. Good detail in the larger version. There is some noise, though on the birds. I might spend some time trying to tame it a bit.

Nicely done - makes me jealous. When I shoot several of these owls in the same image I almost never get enough DOF.
