Manitowish River

I made this picture in the very northern part of Wisconsin along the Manitowish River. I was having a hard time coming up with anything I liked that whole day. Later in the day I was along this river and thought I had finally found a picture I could make. I enjoyed the quiet and peaceful feel of this place. Thanks for any thoughts.

Beautiful winter scene, Nick! Love the subtle colors in the background and the S pattern of the water through the ice. Great patterns in the snow and ice, too. I am really enjoying this one.

Very nicely done, Nick. The patterns formed by the ice along the banks of the river are lovely and so is the reflection of the treeline. The snow laden tree banches in the background complete this winter scene perfectly.

I like how the fingers of ice create a path through your image right to the beautiful snow covered trees Nick. Very tranquil and beautiful scene.

The ice free stretch of the river makes a lovely lead in Nick, the quiet and peaceful feel you mention comes through nicely in this.

It's beautiful, Nick. The ice fringes are like flower petals and the curve of the stream adds great depth.

This is very nice. I love the patterns of the ice and the water. That's almost enough for me, but the snowy branches and subtle color in the background are a great addition.

Nick,

I'm also really enjoying the ice patterns and curves in the river. The bg forest works nicely framing the scene although I'm kinda wishing for a bit more snow for that winter-wonderland look. But you're dealt with how things were at the time and you did a great job composing. Don't have any suggestions.

I think the comp is perfect, and im really liking this one, Nick! Minor nit: would like a bit more clarity in the bg, probably an easy fix. :wavey:
