The Sunset Rocks

A follow-up to my previous image in this gallery.

The sun peeped through for a brief moment, allowing me little time to turn around and recompose.

This area contains all 3 major types of rock formations found on earth...sandstone, volcanic and I forget the other one

Techs:
Nikon D3s with Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 @ 14mm
f22 @ ISO-200
Blend of 3 images

Sedimentary (sandstone), Igneous (volcanic) and metamorphic (rocks changed by heat and pressure) Nice capture. The sunstar is perfectly placed in this image and the rugged horizon supports it wonderfully. Colors are a little saturated for my tastes, but that's a personal preference. This is a very nice image.

I like the comp and light and the way the rocks point me towards the sun. Some of the colors seem a bit "painted on" thought it does add an interesting quality to the scene.

I like the way you composed this. Also like the little splashes of color from the lichen on the rocks and the flowers. Nicely done.

Love your perspective here, Morkel. The sunstar is a fabulous focal point to this very interesting landscape scene. The colors in the rocks looks like a painter has splashed vibrant yellows and reds everywhere. I like the rock structure to the right of the sunstar and could see a tighter comp moving in towards that area. Nice one!

Nice comp Morkel. The well lit FG rocks with the sun behind kind of confused me at first, but then the detail caught my attention.
