As much as I love the ocean, I have a lot of respect of its raw power. Beeing the only person on that beach didn't give me a secure sensation. Although this image sends out a feeling of beauty and relaxation, the situation wasn't stress-free at all. Behind my back were steep cliffs, blocking the escape route from the incoming surf. Some waves came so close that I had to jump over the wet rocks from time to time, holding the tripod up high to keep the camera dry. Finally I was wet up to waist level.

EOS 5DII, 24mm TS-E II, 2 horizontal images stitched, Polarizer, 0.9 ND grad soft

Excellent shot! I like the color, the numerous leading lines, and square comp. on this. It looks like so much fun to do landscapes of the ocean, but I'd probably be too timid to get anything close to this!

Hi Rainer, nice to see you posting here! I wondered why you are not around here. Now I see you already have three posts.
Your courage paid off! Very well composed. Not only regarding balance and lines, but also the colors work great and complement each other. Quite uplifting to see such a shot when the weather is all grey outside, though it appeals to me anyway.

Rainer - Lots of inviting textures - the silky tide works well between the rocks. I feel as though there is a tilt CW and that the ocean will tumble in. It is difficult to tell if the water horizon is level, but the stack rocks look as though they are headed downhill to the right. I think the perspective correction in the filter section of PS might easily correct thisif you wished. Otherwise, very nice shot.

You handled this really well, Rainer. It does certainly does have a beautiful look and feel so you managed not to let the stress of shooting it show! I like this very much. The colors are beautiful and I love the textures and overall feel.

The receding water acts well as a leading line, and your stitchwork is immaculate!

Rainer, this image I already knew in the thumbnail, here I spent many hours taking pictures. Beautiful light and composition. By the way, this summer a helicopter had to rescue a photographer who was isolated on the left side of this beach.

Rainer,

Beautiful light and color in this wonderful seascape. I really like the water patterns of the receding waves. It gives this scene some dynamic action. Everything fits together beautifully.

If I had a small nit it would be the sea rocks/island on the left edge out in the sea. Of course it is what it is, but that rock on the edge is a slight eye magnet. minor though.

I love the depth in this scene and the rocks in the foreground add so much interest. Looks like it could use a few degrees of CCW tilt.

There are diverse areas of interest for me in your image, Rainer. I appreciate the tangible textures in the foreground together with the pattern of the receding waves, as well as the lighting on the rocks in the distance. Interestingly it reflects a rather calm atmosphere to me, not what you were feeling standing in the middle of the scene. But I made some similar experience at the west coast of Portugal, so I can imagine what you are talking about. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous image Rainer. The light really makes this image for me. It must have been quite difficult to find two images where the stitch matched so well. I cannot find the line.
