Hazard Rocks

Visiting family in Rhode Island and spent one dawn down at Hazard Rocks near Naragansett. This is a blend of three images, one for the foreground little "waterfall", one for the mid-ground to eliminate all the white wave wash, and one for the sky. Had to wait for a high set of waves for the water to travel through the crack and the very next wave got me soaked...(see below) and it was about 30 degrees...freezing for a Florida kid!

Nikon D200, 12-24 mm
3 stop ND plus polarizer
ISO 100, f/16 from 3 sec to 0.5 sec
tripod, wet socks ugghh

Good comp and blend. Worth the soaking IMO, but glad it wasn't me!

Beautifully done, Reed! Really like the composition, the way it leads from the interest in the fg to a "far away" look out to the horizon and moon. Well thought out execution of of shots to achieve the look you wanted.
Ooooo, sorry about the soaking and glad you came away safe and sound. My lips turned blue just reading about it!

Nice blend Reed. I cannot tell at all. There does seem to be a blue cast, is that just the early morning light?

Lovely serene composition. Seems much more benign than the account of it's capture. Nice light. Well done

Love the composition and that water flowing through the crack is really great. Nicely done. Can't imagine how that cold water felt; looks like quite a good size wave that nailed you.

Wow Reed, I hope all is well and you didn't get any gear wet. You've composed an excellent near/far seascape. The moon while of course small, but I think adds a nice element to the scene. And I agree with the comments about doing a nice job on the blend.
