Nice clear view of the face and the perfect pose given the tall grass. The catch light in the eyes is great... a really nice touch that adds a bit of shine to what is obviously something of a monochromatic scene.

Would have loved to have seen a larger photo, and also, the leopard further to the right. Otherwise, a lovely image with great intent in the leopard's eyes, and tack sharp, too. :toast:

Kirhan,

This is a beauty, the eyes plus the pose really make it shine, why no large image?

I like the direct strong eye-contact here Kiran and the soft light brought out good detail without any dark shadow areas. IMO this would be much stronger presented as a vertical of only the front part as the rear 2/3 really doesn't add to the image as a whole, particularly with the legs obscured.

Amazing capture. It's nice how much the leopard stands out from the background. And those 'shiny', clear eyes giving such a stare seems quite intimidating! Great shot...

I love the sense of leg lift and wish we could see it and the feet better. The shoulder posture and eye contact are terrific.

Thx, all, for your comments/compliments.

Vincent, Thx for your feedback !

I usually prefer tight verticals of heads/faces and refrain from chopping off body parts in my compositions, especially of animals walking sideways...If the animal is walking straight at me, sure, I will most likely do a vertical. There should be an image of a Leopard walking straight at me in my portfolio that shows what I mean.

I do have other shots showing the feet/tail clearly. Those frames don't have the same impact as this one, though.

I do understand it is a matter of personal taste. :toast:

The stare & the raised paw takes this image to another level. However, I do miss the larger post.

Good capture of the leopard. I like the way it blends in with the BG, but still stands out. Also would like to see a vertical. TFS.
