Moonrise on the Road

I should have stayed closer to home to get the moonrise, but since I had a lapse in judgement, I had to shoot this while driving down the highway and scanning my mirrors to make sure no other cars were near me! I had made the same location mistake that same morning and failed to get the moonset altogether. Needless to say, I was not happy about my moon chasing results this month.

My guess is this will eventually get moved to the Man & Nature gallery given the road and guard rail, but it's nice to see. The moon is a strong focal point and then the guard rail stands out. Red line at top of trees

Shirley,

Nice capture of the rising full moon. Driving? really? I think most of us are fascinated and drawn to a beautiful full moon. My recommendation would be to be aware of, and plan for the full moon and scout out some locations ahead of time so you can hopefully avoid having to use your camera while driving. Kinda like texting and driving.... ;-( I would highly recommend the "The Photographer's Ephemeris." It's great tool for finding out moon and sun data and uses Google Earth satellite maps for helping to determine exact locations of the rise and set of the moon and sun. Check it out.

As Tony mentioned, I will be moving this to the Man & Nature Gallery after posting my comment here. Please try and keep the best gallery in mind when posting. Thanks!

Beautiful moon. Not quite sure about the red horizon but I like the curve of the guardrail and road.

I think that reddish color came from me going too much to the magenta side of the color bar. I did have a location staked out, but it was the wrong kind of place--too many hills.
