Aspen Rain

I was scouting today in Lake Tahoe for a private tour starting tomorrow. We're having some intense wind and snow, but I still managed to make this image. Fortunately, the weather should be improving tomorrow!

Thanks in advance for any C&Cs!

This is sweet! I really like this. I heard on the radio today there were some fires in the area and I thought of you. I hope you have a great tour.

Beautiful simple image. The colors are a bit out of the realm, but their subdued tones work quite nicely in this image. Really well done.

Thanks everyone!

Michael - I appreciate it man, looking forward to catching up.

Aaron - Thanks for pointing out the softness in the lower left corner. This repost is from a different image that hopefully fixes the issue. It's a slightly different comp as well.

Anybody have thoughts as to the comp - better, worse, or indifferent?

This is gorgeous, Justin! The second post really pops. The added contrast and sharpness makes it much more 3D, especially the water drops.

A good find, Justin, and well composed. As shown here,
fall colors do not have to be super vibrant to be beautiful.
I hope that you have a good tour of the area.

Patterns, textures, shapes, colors. What doesn't this have? Very well executed shot. The detail is fantastic especially in the repost. It's amazing what we see when we look down sometimes. Beautiful shot.

Who needs good weather when you can capture an image as outstanding as this. Excellent composition! The only very minor nit I'll mention with the first composition is the leaf stem on the left edge just above the center. The second composition doesn't have this issue.

I really hesitated to check this thumb out, Justin, cause ive seen so many dew/rain on aspen leaf shots it's really grown tiresome. But i finally gave in to temptation  and im glad i did, cause this is really exceptional, for a number of reasons--
the mix of color, the matted look of the leaves that helps its abstract qualities, the even distribution and bigger size of the drops, that really makes it look spacey, the criss-crossing stems that breeak things up, and the mildew/black that keeps it all real and grounded in nature photography. Just outstanding! :toast:
