Sugar Land, TX Local pond. November 18, 2011

D3 ISO 400. 500mm/4 with 1.4 x tc. f 6.3 /1000s -0.3 ev. Hand held laying flat on ground. Morning light. Back end of another scaup cloned out on the far right.

3rd day out with my new 500mm lens. Finally getting it right. There is more to a lens change than just distance.

Have fun with that new lens -- I like the low angle and the green colors on the neck. Feather detail looks really sharp

Nice exposure control. It's hard to catch the head sheen of these scaups, but you did great.
Interesting water, too - sweet image!

You caught a perfect head turn here Angela and the low angle is wonderful. Nice exposure and detail. Yes, lens changes can be a challenge but I'm betting you love that new glass more and more as time goes on.
