Western Gull

While I was waiting for a Spotted Sandpiper to come close, I practice on this Western Gull perched on a small stump in Morro Bay. It suddenly jumped into the water towards me and I got this grab shot. I kind of liked it even though it is a tad soft. I think the water coming off the bill qualifies for this theme.

I like it too! Doesn't look too soft to me - it's focused on the important areas, the face and water droplets. I might crop right side very slightly for balance.

Looks pretty sharp to me (at least at this size). The trail of water drops from the beak is great.

Doesn't look soft to me; you have the eye in great focus which is what's important. Like the dripping water; great capture!

Sharp where it counts, Skip, and the droplet path captured in your image is a fine fit to the theme. Very interesting shot too.
