Desert Bighorn

Back after leading a bunch of tours out west so haven't been around lately. Nice to catch up on the images in the next few weeks. Figured I would post one from my Zion and Bryce tour. The desert bighorn were very cooperative this year and although I do have tighter images of this guy.....I liked the textures and colors of the ground.
Canon 1D Mark 3 with the 100-400mm lens at 400mm at f9 for 1/1600 sec. at ISO 800 hand held.
I have a lot of catching up to do on this site in the next few weeks!

Nice composition. I like the detail in the sheeps coat and face. TFS.

Good light, background - I agree about the rock being very attractive for its color and texture. Nice diagonal in the composition. :toast:

Hi Roman,

A nice, simple composition, which always works well for me. The diagonal flow of the image works well for me.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Very nice Roman; that all surrounding rock surface with its nice wavy textures makes for a lovely setting. The elegant pose of the bighorn with perfect leg positions and a catchlight in the eye all add to a very interesting image.

Love the position of the ram and the nice texture in the rocks. Nice warm color as well.

Stella shot of the Bighorn Roman, and the wonderful background perfectly enhances the appeal of this image. Very nicely done!

Love the way the animal blends into the rock, which has attractive, subtle texture.
