Russian Forest Light

It was a typical rainy day, but it was interesting to see the forest in this weather. When I went deep into the forest, from the misty sky, not far from where I stood, fell to the ground pillar of sunlight.

Pentax 67II, 200mm, Velvia 100F.

Hi Efim

I have just received my copy of the Russian version of LPOTY book from Dmitry. I seem to remember (I was one of the judges) that this was in the book. It's a lovely photograph with some beautiful light rays bursting through between the trees. A decent sacn from your Pentax 67II. too.

That's very special light, Efim. This looks like one very dense forest where light can barely penetrate. While I don't particularly care for the chain-sawed stump, it does add some counterweight to the rays.

The shafts of light are superb in this woodland scene, Efim. I do not know if there was anything you could have done about it, but I do find myself wishing the cut tree was not in the scene.

I really liek the mood of this one. The sunlight is awesome. I'm not a big fan of this chain saw stump, though, but it's a great big.

Efim, I like this very much. In fact I think that the felled tree in the scene is poignant in some way. Of course the rays of light are great as well!

A wonderful sunbeam, Efim! It's kind of like a forest fairyland. I personally don't mind
the stump.

Wow, that's some strong sunlight! Excellent composition. Too bad about the stump but nature photographers don't get to pose their subjects. Probably a good thing.

Wonderful forest light Efim. The sawed stump kinda says is should be in the Man and Nature gallery but gorgeous light none-the-less.
