Autumn Abstract + Repost

The dense foliage in Tongue River Canyon and the late afternoon sun provided me the opportunity to try something a little different from my usual water based abstracts. The silver lace vine in the fg seemed to suggest a softer approach to this landscape and the backlighting imparted a beautiful glow to the leaves. It was a very sweet moment in time and I hope I captured some of what I was feeling in this image. Thanks for looking.

What a beautiful shot, Nancy! I love the abstract feel, and the gorgeous textures. The sky seems to have an odd color to it - and is a bit distracting. I wonder if cropping the sky - and a bit of the dark area on the left side - might help. I'd hate to lose the top on the right side - but I think a crop might improve the image overall.

Varina, I like your suggestion to crop. I think it puts a little more emphasis on the sliver lace vine which was what attracted my attention in the first place. It also seems to increase the abstractness of the image. As always, thanks for your thoughts and suggestions

I think the repost does a good job of turning an outstanding collection of textures and colors into more of an abstraction. Nice seeing!

Oh yeah, the repost is both more pleasing and more abstract. The silver lace is a nice counterpoint to the blazing colors of the BG foliage.

I just love this. To me, the second version lacks in contrast and definition. I strongly prefer version 1. OK, v2 is more abstract. You have the bases covered. Excellent image.
