Callanish Standing Stones, Isle of Lewis, Scotland.

Even before the sun went down, there was an eerie silence and a sense of a gathering. An amazing place it is for sure. Chills still go through me seeing these ancient stones. Difficult to explain why. Amazing place.

Thanks for looking.

Eva, the silhouette of the stones in the background together with the detailed texture of the one in the near gives me an immediate impression of this specific atmosphere. Your splitting of the image in to halves, earth and sky, and the stones as a kind of connection between them has great symbolic weight for me.

Whew, still waiting for the hair on the back of my neck to go down, Eva. At least for me, you really succeded in conveying the feeling here. It's almost like that stone in front is inviting you to join the group. The details, especially with that wonderful light on the FG stone, are fantastic. The heavy clouds with the distand light near the horizon gave you the perfect backdrop. (Still shivering.)

You certainly conveyed the eerie silence and the 'days of old' feel to this Eva. The larger image is fantastic.

Thanks Silvia, Bill, Wayne and Vance.

For the longest time, I wanted to see Stonehenge, something on my bucket list for a long time (but don't think you can get this close anymore), This experience was just so much better since I could actually stand next to these stones at Callanish and touch them. It was truly an eerie experience that I will never forget.
