Sorry for the repetitiveness of this subject, but it is just to tempting for me, I try to ration myself but fail miserably.

This particular bird was taken in Chikwenya concession, Zimbabwe on 14th September 2011.

EOS 1D MkIV

500mm F4 IS hand-held from open game viewing vehicle

F5.6, ISO 400, 1/3200

What a gorgeous bird! Can't post enough of these, imo.
Excellent detail, killer pose, exceptional colours and BG. The only possible nit for me is that I'd like to see the eye a bit brighter - playing with the levels adjustment might accomplish this. But I suppose any eye would look a bit dull with feather colours like this!
Amazing image..

Happy you haven't figured out a way to delete this Ken, as this is one of yours I'm pretty sure I missed, and I like it a lot :^)

Colours are gorgeous and pose is wonderful too! Not sure if it would bring it up that much better, but I think I'd be tempted to brighten the eye just a little more. Thanks for sharing ... again ;^)

I know what you mean about this species, photographing it is addicitive. The colours and the way they pose out in the open might just account for this, they are a real photographer's delight. There is lovely detail on the large version here.

It's a gorgeous bird and I really enjoy the background too Ken. In answer to your question, a post cannot be deleted after a comment has been made on it.
