Shooting Stars

(Dodecatheon pulchellum)

In the woods near my cabin, there's a tiny clearing where tiny forest creaturs scamper in and out of the deep grass and sunbeams play with shadows through the day. This spring it was filled with delicate sprays of shooting stars. I think this image is a little more moody than most my flora posts. I'm hoping some of the magic and mystery of this glen comes across to the viewer. Comments and suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks for looking

I know the sweetness of wooded color of Shooting stars. This past spring was the best for them I have ever seen. I like the composition for the fade in focus to the back and for the mix of maturity of the blooms. Very, very nice indeed.

Beautiful wildflower capture, Nancy Lea! I really like how the light is focused on the front flowers as well as the focus. The bg out of focus flowers give a nice context for the front bloom. Sounds like a magical place to live near!

Nancy: Really good use of the light and DOF to separate the main subject from the BG. Wonderful find and a superb result.>=))>
