Softness

Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Tamron f/3.8 90mm macro

1/200 sec
Manual
f/2.8
Handheld
Western North Carolina
Raw, LR3, CS5, Viveza, Topaz

Realizing that the petals of this flower were in all different planes, I still wanted to try f/2.8 for a very soft look for everything but the center. Does this work for you, or no?

Comments and suggestions are desired and appreciated.

Thank you!

It is very nice but I'd like to the center a bit more sharp. Nicely done Barbara.

Barbara: I do think a touch more DOF on the center parts would work better but I do like the comp and colors. Nicely done.>=))>

Barbara I like it alot. as said by others it would look good sharp throughout but for me it would not be any better. I think it is a matter of personal tastes. cheers! we are all right.

I like the placement of the flower with the touch of green on the right, but agree it would be nice to have the entire center of the flower in focus.

I think it was an excellent choice. The soft layers of petals are quite lovely.

Looking at the larger version I echo other comments about the softness of the centre, Barbara, but I really love the feel of this - it seems to me to capture beautifully the gentle flow of the petals. I also like the viewpoint with the centre looking slightly askew at us, something which imparts vitality to the image.
