This one was taken in Kenya at the end of September. Not having had a lot of luck with Kingfishers in the UK, I was delighted to spend some time with the African varieties.

This is probably the closest, in terms of appearance, to our UK resident.

Canon 1DMK4, f6.3, 1/4000, 500mm +1.4x , ISO400

I find these guys far more accommodating than their British counterparts as well, Austin. Here I find the oof leaves a little distracting, I think you could probably crop a little off the top without detracting from the bird. Otherwise a fine image.

Beautiful image. Pin sharp, rich colours. I like the foliage in the background as it gives a little context.
