Callanish Standing Stones, Isle of Lewis, Scotland

The sun had already gone down and no one remained except for these ghostly figures and me. Eerie it was standing alone admist these ancient stones with chills running up and down my spine. Taken on a Transient Light Workshop, Sept 2011 after Ian and Steve went back to the Transient Light Wagon for a cup of tea and and coffee. respectively. I just could not leave this eerie place until fear over took me.

The title was inspired by a song by Lorena McKennitt.

Canon 5DM2
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L at 60mm
ISO100 30sec f/16

Lovely ghostly images, Eva. When I saw the thumbnail, my first thought was of skyscrapers.

Well seen and well done.

Carol

Very mysterious with just that hint of pink in the sky. It would be great to stand quietly among those stones at sunset listening to the day-night sound transition.

Oh, the clouds and the mist with those stones paint a magical scene. How rare and wonderful to convey this atmosphere! I feel those chills, too. (Kind of like when I hear Gaelic music. Could be genetic -- I am told my mother's family were MacGregors.)
