On a swing through Yellowstone's Lamar Valley I could not pass this strange cottonwood. For another Lamar view go here. All comments welcome. >=))>

I really like the colors in this photo, Bill. The bluish background makes such a nice contrast for the yellow tree. I like the lines of the tree and the contrast of textures in this also. One thought I had would be to crop up some from the bottom to make the tree more the star by eliminating some of the grass. Lucky you to be in Yellowstone! Haven't been there in many years; hope to go again someday.

Love the color palette, Bill! And I like the crop suggestion. What a wonderful subject and this cottonwood looks more like one of the trees in the swamps down south. Excellent work.

Not your typical cottonwood for sure. Wonderful structure in the tree. I really like th ecomp and how the tree is set off by the blue green BG. Very striking Bill.

I could see with a small crop off the bottom, but otherwise, this looks good to me. The tree stands out beautifully from the BG. Well seen, captured, processed.

Magical colouring, Bill ! A marvellous specimen photographed against the perfect background. In the larger version especially the grasses and leaves of the cottonwood dance before the eyes !!

Nice job with the tree set against the shaded mountain. I like the comp including the foreground grasses & willows. I think they help create atmosphere and balance between the foreground yellows and the blue background. That is a very striking tree.
