This morning I got out to my car to head off to Jones Beach in pursuit of birds. On the roof of the car was this wasp covered in dew - so I took out the tripod, but on the macro and took a few shots. Not the best and I wish I'd been able to get closer but the location of the wasp made it impossible.

Nikon D300s 105mm f/2.8 VR + 1.7X TC tripod
f/8
1/5s
ISO 250
Cable Release

Cropped to approx. 50%, sharpened

Luke,
the droplets make the shot for me. Nice image.

Neat! I love all those droplets and the bee is a great point of interest - especially with such great details. I only wish his head was slightly raised - at first glace, he appears to be dead, though I can see from his stance that he is not. I love the "mohawk" though. Awesome!

Nicely captured, Luke. It's amazing how they can "bunk down" almost anywhere.

Good capture; would have liked more DOF. Still, good comp and the dew drops are a nice bonus.
