A scene along Route County Road 15 NW from Yampa, CO.
Nikon D300, polarizer, 1/125 sec, f/5.6
10/4/2011, 10:32 am, ISO 200

Somehow the road, the puddle (and the signs) add to this image.

Patrick,
Great shot... nice visualization, capture and processing.
One comment (or question) why such a small f stop?
I would think depth of field would be at a premium on this shot...
I do like the yellow warning signs, they do seem to fit...
I like it...

My guess is the polarizer. I used the camera's auto settings and handheld. Image would probably have been better with smaller f/stop and tripod.

Patrick,
the polarizer helped make the shot, but probably robbed you of a few fstops...
But, it's a really good shot....
you saw and captured a really interesting scene,
it really does not need any improving....

Nice, classical image. the puddle and the warning signs keep it from being stereotypical.

Great view. I think the up-hill angle makes it a little unusual -- a good thing. That sliver of blue sky set against the leaves, and positioned just opposite the road make for a ballance comp.

Thanks for the uphill tip. I'll remember that.

Beautiful! The road makes the image as it leads through the glowing aspens. The sliver of blue sky (thank you polarizer), the puddle, and the signs add extra interest.

Brilliant color Patrick. In the larger version , I notice some hot spots on the white trunks you may want to try and tame slightly.

I love the bright glow here, and the road provides a nice way to lead the eye in. The sky slit provides a nice counterpoint to the road.
