Neat pose! Certainly a different image of an elephant. Wonder what the little one was doing? Nice detail in the elephants skin. TFG.

Looks like a not so successful attempt at extracting minerals
Fun to watch them when they are yet to master their trunks. My only wish is for the eyes to be more visible.

John and Anand,
Thanks for your comments, I just loved the pose, the shadow of mum is a bit of a nuisance.
I think that Anand has the answer to what it was doing.

Greta little picture Ken, while Anand's no doubt spot-on with his explanation of this behaviour, my silly mind preferred it before without knowing, as I love an image with such great caption potential, even if the caption has absolutely nothing to do with what we're actually seeing - LOL ;^)
Seriously, always interesting to learn something knew about animals I love so much and this is still a fun picture for me in any case, thanks for sharing Ken :^)

Hey Ken,
Definitely ranks as one of the best camping chair shots I've seen!
Detail seems very good (especially for a hand-held shot) and you've captured an interesting behaviour. Given the symmetry of the pose I think I'd opt for a centred composition myself, but that's simply an issue of personal preference.
Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

Very different, very much unusual but very good !
I may prefer to burn the foreground a bit.

Ashley,
Thanks for your comment, Elephants are such fun.
Brad,
The 4 of us sitting on chairs by the waterhole would have made for a good picture but there were too many Elephants
Jagdeep,
Thanks for your comment, I see what you mean.
