Sierra Skyline

Another image from my recent Sierra trip to Dusy Basin and the Eastern. I tried to capture the expanse of the basin in this pano during some fantastic lighting. I used 4 vertical images, each with a highlight and shadow exposure to hold the dynamic range and manually blended. I thought the verticals would allow an easier/better stitch using such a wide angle lens. I was able to avoid some distortion by keeping the lens in a more level position. The rock arrangement in the right reflection still bothers me as it seems to block up the reflection, but changing my position disrupted the reflection in worse ways in other areas of the shot. Some single images handled this problem a bit better.

Thanks for any feedback, as well as the feedback from my prev. post.

Harry, this is really nice. Warm light on the granite peaks that shows wonderfully in the reflection, and some good clouds to boot!

This is really nice Harry. Beautiful light, colors, reflection and the panoramic view is fantastic! Excellent work. I really enjoy the large version and bet this would make an awesome large print.

Over all a great photo. The rocks in the water don't bother me, they are just part of the scene.

Great shot. I reckon it is very successful interference of the reflection on the right doesn't bother me one jot.

This is really beautiful. Well done! I don't really have a problem with the rocks in the reflection on the right. I think your choice of a panoramic format worked very well here.

A real beauty of this area Harry. The right side reflection IMO is not bothersome. It would be if my eye was drawn to it but there is so much more interesting things going on. Lovely light and clouds. Awesome!

What wonderful light, Harry, you sure were lucky to be there for this! I like how the clouds are un-lit, as it helps the peaks stand out in all their own glory.

A beautiful pano, Harry. Wonderful color and contrast. Great job with the blend and stitch. The rocks on on the right don't bother me at all, in fact help draw my eye down into the reflection and fg areas.

Man, I have got to get over to Dusy Basin! This is a wonderful image all the way around, Harry. There does appear to be slight halo on the left skyline of Isoceles Peak. You might want to check this before you print it.

You've gotten some wonderful images from The Sierra!
