Hopeman Stones

So my husband Joe says to me before I leave for Scotland, "Hope you take more than rock pictures on your trip……". Well here are some stones. A running joke between us since I guess I take a lot of rock images.

"Stones" on a beach in Hopeman on Clashach Cove, near Moray, Scotland. Taken on a 1-2-1 workshop with Ian Cameron.

Glad you took this one Eva. Those tumblers are so pristine without any vegetation debry having been blown onto them. Great photo.

Love the flow of stones around the rock face. They look like an amazing collection of eggs of many shapes and colors. Hope there aren't any NPN fireworks, since this looks like a total trampling of Stan's pet peeve #11.

Beautifully done, Eva. Gorgeous.

The location depicted in this picture gives me enough reason to plan a trip to Scotland.

Eva, I like your play with subtle light and shadow, the stones are presented amazingly to me. It is a great pleasure for me to explore all the delicate details. Thanks for sharing.

The vertical element of the rock face really adds to this image. The variety of size and colors in the tumbled rocks is wonderful. Nice image

Great composition. I love the line of the rocks and the light at the end. Very sharp throughout. TFS!

Hey Eva,
I just love when shorelines have those smooth stones. Sort of reminds me of Superior a bit. Great how the stones wrap around the big stone too. An interesting comp and probably cool in the blue hour too.
Great eye

Au contraire, this is the exact opposite of my peeve--lots of medium sized rocks here which comprise the subject, rather than detract form the subject. I think this is pretty neat Eva--love the light in the urhc, and the white maverick in the middle. Minor nit--the OOF top left. Looks good! :wavey:

These stones look fantastic, Eva. I love the colors and wonderful smooth texture of them. In the large version I feel like I could reach out and touch them. I agree with stan on the oof upper left, but still beautiful. :toast:

I really like how the stones flow and wrap around, with a fine shot of light at the end. Perhaps cloning out some of the small hot spots on the stones just before it begins the 'wraparound' would be an asset.

Love the sweeping curve of the colourful stones in your comp Eva, the larger version looks really good. Plenty of interest for me in the differing shapes and sizes of the stones themselves.

Gary.

What a marvelous collection of stones, Eva. It's like a rocky easter. Looks like the back wall is a little out of focus, but it's ok, the round pebbles are what matter
