This is another shot from The Brig taken in August. I'm pleased with this because I remembered to change the F stop for a change, getting good dof, but still have a pleasing bg.
Hope you think so, too! I still get too excited when I see a perched, shootable bird and forget what I'm doing...I'm really striving to improve in this area!

50D, 500mm, ISO 200, 1/100, F10 Please see the LARGER version, and thanks for your comments!

Nice, Sharon. Great view of the bird and I do like the bg and the foreground both. To my eye, the image looks just a touch dark, and in the larger version, the plumage looks like it might have been oversharpened. Sweet image (and I still forget to check my settings  ).

I like this as posted. Nice detail, good setting.

I'm very impressed with your multiple successes at Brig.

"I still get too excited when I see a perched, shootable bird and forget what I'm doing...I'm really striving to improve in this area! " Haaa me too funny. I really like the soft light hee and the great leafy perch. I agree could be a tad brighter and maybe remove the light reflections in the middle bottom.
