Gentle Spectacle II: Warming the Mist
It seems lately that my appreciation of the more gentle spectacles in Nature is increasing. (I posted one a couple of weeks ago
HERE , and some of you seemed to enjoy it, too, so here's another.) I just returned from a three-day fall foliage canoe/hiking trip, and my favorite image of the bunch does not include a single colorful leaf.
The river mist was disappearing fast as I poked my head out of the tent. After a late night at the campfire, I woke up late, and rushed to grab my gear and launch the canoe. As I got to the river shore, the sun was penetrating the mist and lighting up the trees -- I knew there was no time for the tripod. I shot this two-frame panorama hand-held, and then went looking for other images, but this one is my favorite.
