Traigh Mhor, Isle of Harris, Scotland.

Just before the real sunset action started while on a Transient Light Workshop. I just loved the drama in the skies over Scotland especially this evening.

Thanks for having a look and for your comments and critiques.

WOW! This is fantastic Eva, and your choice of B&W is perfect. The clouds are so dynamic it looks like they were painted in. I think your chosen shutter speed caught the water action just right, and the salt & pepper sand texture is wonderful. Absolutely top notch photography here!!

Eva, your picture is a great piece of art for me. The character of the clouds, that is somehow repeated by the surface of the sea, the texture of the sand at the bottom as invitation to explore the whole image, everything fits perfectly together for me. Besides, the b&w conversion transmits your idea in a unique way to me.

Nice conversion and it lends a lot of drama to the shot. I also like the textures in the sand, water, and sky.

I echo Bill's comments, Eva. This is fantastic. The range of b/w tones is astounding and I love those dark tones of the far hills as well as the silvery reflections on the water. Your choice of b/w was perfect and your b/w development couldn't be better. Really one amazing image.

Im mostly in agreement with Bill here--this is great photography. The fg textures just suck me in, and i love the heavy silhouette of the far shore. I have one thought--and i honestly don't know if it would improve the image any, but it came to mind so here goes: im wondering if a little softer processing of the clouds would work, since there is a lot of counterpoint going on in the composition here (eg, conflict between sea and air, land/sky) but the processing is even from top to bottom--its all sharp/hard. If i had the RAW to play with, id take a graduated filter and soften the clarity in the sky (or adjustment brush). But its a killer shot however you dice it! :toast:

You've captured a nice range of tonalities here that I think would make for a very dramatic print. Wonderful image!

Awesome Image! This is just fantastic Eva. Great looking clouds and water, and I love the texture in the sand. I agree with Bill that your shutter speed for the water worked perfect. Excellent work.

Eva,

Fantastic tonal range here. I love the contrasts and the character of the sky is wonderful. Add the texture on the beach and you've got a wonderful image. No nits or suggestions from me!

An absolutely stunning b&w image. The powerful sky and terrific texture in the sand and water give this image so much energy. This one is a real stand-out.
