4 Minutes @ Temperance

After spending the better part of my day exploring some new areas in Northern, MN back in 2010, I decided to shoot sunset at Temperance River State Park. This is right next to where the river feeds into Lake Superior.
I put on my B+W 10 stop ND filter and sipped a Surly Furious IPA while the camera exposed for 4 minutes. It was a great way to end the day.

C&C welcome

Very, very nice...love the way that filter slows everything down!

Wow, the wind must have been REALLY calm for you to have no visible tree movement during a 4 minute exposure. This is very pretty, and is well composed.

I hate to sound really stupid, but what the heck is a Surly Furious IPA?

Looks and sounds like a great moment, and the image records it perfectly. The feel is soft, but the image isn't. Great detail in the rocks with that smooth water is fantastic. :toast:

Thanks Everyone.

Surly is a Micro Brewery in Minnesota. Furious is the name of their Pale Ale.

Very pretty comp Shawn. I would have never guessed it to be MN. The image does look a little soft and could see reducing the brightness in the sky. It's a wonderful scene and I think the 50/50 comp works extremely well.

Thanks for the critique. It seems it has been crunched too heavy when uploading?

Look here and tell me if you thin it still looks soft - http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4091/4958558337_a2d63fd0f6_o.jpg

I love the balance between the smooth water and soft sky Vs the detailed and textured rock and foliage....beautiful image.
The above link looks nice'n sharp.

Your image has great artistic impact on me, Shawn. The silky surface of the sea makes for an almost surrealistic look to me.
