Reddish Egret

Here is an image I captured back in August at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. I was trying to capture some side lit shots of this Egret when he took off and gave me a chance for a flight shot. What I like about this image is that the Egret is below me a bit.

Nice exposure and flight posture, Skip. I really like that bg and the touch of reed tops in the bottom of the frame anchors it nicely. I'm usually so busy just trying to track the bird that I don't think about a bit of foreground, but it really helps the image a lot.

The reeds at the bottom establish the photo nicely. Fine work on the detail in the bird. Very nice.

Hey Skip,
It was great shooting with you and Eric last weekend. The water color is terrific. Really provides a great background and the reeds at the bottom give this image a nice anchor and perspective. Look forward to getting out with you again.
