Tiny Bouquet

I like to shoot and admire flowers but must admit that I am a novice at identifying them. I was shooting Dahlias at a local growers and noticed these tiny flowers (1/4 - 3/8" in size,) and he identified them as being Verbena. Verbena is probably very common but I had not stopped to notice it or take in the beauty of the tiny bouquets that nature presents it in. The background is OOF Black-eyed Susans.

Craig, I like very much the "mood" of this image: great light and impressive colors, but why f/3.5 only...?

Hi Mauro,
Thank you for taking the time to look and comment on this image. "Why f/3.5 only?" To be honest the DOF preview and LCD viewing looked good so f/3.5 it was. I'm curious as to what setting you might have used and why.
Thanks, Craig

Love the vibrant colors in this photo, Craig. I really like your comp in this and the soft BG compared with the sharper Verbena flower.

Craig, I follow this rule too, the widest possible aperture to get the job done. Superb angled composition for the tiny flowers on a superb orange background. I would add a tiny bit of Canvas if possible on the right or crop it a bit loosely if this was cropped.

Intriguing composition, Craig, which grows on me the more I look at it. The curiously off centre arrangement seems somehow to suit these tiny flowers - and the bg choice is inspired. Lovely image !

Nice isolation of the blooms and a very pretty BG Craig. Nice shot.

Craig:
Beautiful flowers and nice bg. Wish for a little more canvas on the right since the flowers are leaning that way.

Nice work on the color and getting the right perspective on the background. F3.5 works well for that background.

Hi craig :wavey: Beautifully composed, with stunning color and shapes, i too would add canvas to the side the flowers are leaning to.
