Elk at Sunrise

Everyone else has posted an elk shot, so I don't want to feel left out. This was at Madison Junction in Yellowstone two weeks ago. This guy was posing for several minutes before he followed his "ladies" up into the woods. His bugling was an added treat to capture.

Hi Wick, this is a very nice shot of a bull elk in rut. You have good color and detail. I do wonder if you could have shot from a slightly lower angle, somehow the far ear blending in with the river in the BG bothers me. Any way, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful animal nicely captured. And catching him bugling in morning light is classic. Well done.

I was through there last week and didn't manage anything nearly as good on the elk.

Nice pose here Wick...
I feel it's a tad tight at the bottom, as the legs have that 'cut-off' feeling
I also think you could back down on the contrast just a tad?

Wick, I like the pose you captured in this shot (a bugle is always great) and the setting. I do echo Morkel's nits.
