I found this guy 2 weeks ago while I was taking my daughter to school. Decided to go back and take some photo's.
D300s, ISO 400 500mm F/7.1 1/250s I processed it with lightroom & then Nik HDR.
C & C appreciated.
Cindy

I like the composition with the tree trunk pointing forward and the branches radiating, Cindy. The Heron looks like it's probably sharp, though it's hard to tell at this scale. I don't know much about HDR, but there really doesn't seem to be that much contrast in this image that it would be needed.

I like it, it's very picturesque and not your everyday typical Blue Heron shot. I like the in focus habitat background and how the subject stands out from it, the lighting, and the painting like semblance.

I like the unique body-language you've captured here Cindy. Background's and surroundings are a little on the busy side, but I happen to like the inclusion of environment in shots like this. Only thing I think I'd prefer is seeing a larger version of this ;^)

This is a nice comp showing the type of habitat this species often uses. I agree. I don't see a need for HDR processing as the the range of colors in this image is not expansive.

I like the heron against this BG. Detail and color looks good, but I would like to have seen a larger post. Thanks for sharing.

Cindy,
This photo could have been taken at Burke Lake, Virginia. I have several similar to this taken from my canoe. I like the pose and the picture!
