I had only a very poor record shot of one of these before from Thailand, so I was extremely pleased to find this co-operative one from a montane region of Malaysia recently. My flash battery pack failed on me!

1D MkIV, 500mm, 1/100 @ f5.6, ISO1250, early morning shaded light.

Completely relate to your previous experiences of falling short with nailing a shot of the Verditer KC, and if you're ever thinking of compiling a collection of so-close-but-no-dice images of this species just let me know, as I believe I still have more than a few on file I'd be happy to contribute ;^)

The colors are really stunning, love the vibrant blue against the soft green background. Its a beautiful image.

You've captured some beautiful colors here. Great backdrop, nice bird postioning, good perch, and a great gaze off into the netherlands. Details look great. Would like to see larger image.
