Early Fall Late Light

Yet another panorama (sorry folks but I have a lot of panos and I'd like to get some feedback on some of them). This one was taken off the Glen Highway, near Eureka Lodge, Alaska. I have a lot of panos and photos of this huge expanse. In most of them the mountains are well lit and the foreground more likely to be in the shadows. This one was the opposite. The sun was bright where I was but despite waiting for quite some time the clouds kept hiding the mountains. The colors were so nice that I went ahead and took some shots.

Multiple photos stitched with Autopano Giga.
Sony DSC-R1, All frames:
ISO-160, f11.0, 1/250

Hi Gary, You've captured a lot in this scene and IMO, all of the elements are screaming for attention. The sky is interesting; the mountain range sings out, "Look at me." What looks like scrub pins is a separate element clamoring for attention; and so is the FG foliage.
I have no idea what sections have been shot as separate images but perhaps just selecting the areas of mountains and sky might be the best solution.
My 2-cents.

Regards,

Carol

Another one I would love to see a huge print of. Excellent depth, color, and balance.

From a technical aspect, its amazing. From an artistic standpoint, I think its pretty darn nice, but there's a couple things that catch my attention that hurt it aesthetically: I see Carol's point, but i do think its cohesive enough given the subject matter--however the extreme llhc is too distracting--that slope of grass doesn't belong in this shot. The other thing is that there is some mild distortion that gives this almost a fish-eye look (the trees look like they're leaning away from you). That's not too bad though. It certainly isn't anything i could pull off, and it's a great wide view of some great scenery!

This is a nice shot - beautiful scenery. Composition wise it it were mine i would cut off from the the ride side so that grass in the lower left corner isn't in the frame anymore.

I think this is a very nice image with some excellent processing. My only nit is a compositional one, I feel cutoff on the right, like there should be another image stitched on.

Gary,

The left hand side is not doing the image any good and it such a great expansive one.
