Aspiration

The photo was taken on Squam Lake in the mountains of NH before sunrise. What attracted me to this spot was the aspirational little island in the making with the branch reaching up and out from the water. I also was attracted to the soft colors and hues of the clouds and water. I cherish this area of the lake because early mornings are so quiet and peaceful. Not thrilled with the leaves overlapping the rock, but was unable to get enough height to separate these two elements (without bringing a ladder on my kayak). Canon 5DM2, ISO 200, F22, 20mm, 2.0s

Very calm, serene, and peaceful image Richie. I really like those pastel peach colors!

Looks like the horizon tilts down a bit to the right. Maybe a bit of barrel distortion? Very minor nit on a beautiful image. Very well seen!

The soft colors here have a certain appeal. There is almost a Zen-like quality to this image.

Yes I think Tony said it very well, the composition seems very well thought out.

Very interesting, Richie. It looks like a difficult set of elements to compose but you pulled it off nicely. I particularly like being able to see the detail of the rocks down in the water.

The comp and subject matter is awesome, Richie! Great light and color. Id clone out that one thingie to the left of the far right rock. Also, correct the noticeable CW tilt. I look forward to seeing more from you (and more comments! ) :wavey:

A simple yet pleasing scene. Not sure what more you could change or improve on this scene besides the ever so minor horizon tilt.
