I never get tired of the beautiful colors in these birds. I would have liked to have been able to use a smaller f-stop to make the background more blurry and less busy, but the bills on these birds stick out so far from their body that a larger f-stop was necessary to get the bill in focus. I hope I have left enough room for the bird's virtual feet. What do you think?

Great use of the natural frame and the colors work wonderfully here.

Lovely colors and I like the natural framing as well. Regarding the virtual feet I think you may have not left enough room for them but the other choice is to have a lot more oof greenery at the bottom so I think your decision on comp was well made. :toast:

These Rosette Spoonbills are such beautiful bird, though all too often I see pictures that don't show off the design of the bill as much as I'd like. This one, however, is perfect for me! I think you made an excellent choice with the aperture setting and I wouldn't have even thought of "virtual feet" if you hadn't mentioned them yourself ;^)

Wonderful capture Carol, I love the setting and the eye is the cherry on my cake, thanks for sharing :^)
