Not posted for a while but in the last 2 weeks I've seen my favourite British mammal a couple of times now.Taken on my local river here in Berwickshire, while out walking the dog.Great experience for me...but 'Ollie' wasn't too pleased about his delayed swim!

Canon MkIV,5oo+1.4 lens,1/500 f5.6,iso400 and cropped some off the top and bottom.

Agree with Neil on this, it's always good to see an Otter, and even better if you manage a good shot of one. I saw 2 Otters last wednesday while waiting for Kingfishers to turn up; it made my day.

No nits from me :toast:

I'm sure you would have shot this with the otter in the central portion of the frame and I think it would look better if you had cropped it to maintain that perspective, with the otter placed deeper in the frame ( at least 2/5th rather than 1/3rd). Just my opinion.

One of my favorite subjects though of a slightly different variety. Great detail on the face/wiskers and lovely green reflection on the water makes a great setting. Thanks for sharing. I didn't even know you folks had otters.
