Wow, this looks like an image from a Federal duck stamp. So nicely done. You caught the wings in the absolute down position with the head stretched far in front. Excellent BG still evokes a natural habitat and super color and detail in both the whites and the blacks. As nice a snow goose image as can be had.

Lovely shot Sandy, really like the streamlined aerodynamic shape of this bird in flight.

Sandy, terrific BIF shot of this bird, but I especially like the background. Sometimes I get tired of a solid, blurred background behind a bird and enjoy a background where you can see some of the bird's environment as in this case I can see the grasses, shubbery, trees and then sky. Very nice.

Great flight shot Sandy. Huge flocks of snows are beginning to arrive here so maybe this year I will get some 'great'
shots!!

Beautiful flight shot Sandy. My knowledge of birds is limited so could you please tell me what it is? Best guess: Snow goose. Also love the background blur and colors.

Nice flight shot you have here Sandy, but the BG is what makes this one a little different for me. I like the color palette a lot. It really does say "Fall".

Nice clean image with great detail. White and black well handled. Nice job.
So down there does fall mean the geese are arriving or leaving?

Dan, the Sacramento and SF Bay area (and other CA spots) have many refuges where the geese/ducks/cranes winter over. Some are just starting to arrive. When the serious rains start in another month, they will be here in huge quantities.
We are on the Pacific Flyway, so other birds stop only briefly in their longer migration.
