Semipalmated Sandpiper
by Bill Leggett
I don't often try to photograph these smaller peeps, because they are so often moving around so fast, or due to their size I cannot get close enough, but last weekend I caught one at fairly close range and got a couple of decent images. This one is full frame with no adjustments other than in Olympus Studio upping the gamma 1 notch and cloning specular hightlights on the leg and the usual PS actions. I had considered adding some canvas up top to decenter the bird, but decided to leave as is. Large image included.
