Hi Allen. I like how you used the main trunk and branch in the composition and resisted just zooming all the way in to have a bird on a flat branch. However, the hawk appears somewhat centered for my tastes. Not sure what more you could have done really. Did you bump the saturation and/or contrast, again my preference would be to decrease both just a smidge - just how I roll. Clean comp over all and always a treat to get a hawk on a natural perch.

A nice look at this guy's gorgeous red tail and the distinctive light patches on his scapulars. I like the over the shoulder pose with great eye contact and the natural perch. Although the branch is sharp, the head seems just a tad soft, maybe room for a little selective sharpening.

He's really giving you the eye and I like the contact. The image appears somewhat over saturated and some haloing in the sky. I'd help with that, but my halos are even more prominent than yours :)

Detail looks great in the LP Allan, I especially like the hawks look-back pose.
I've been trying to get clear shot of the Red-tailed Hawk here where I live, so for me this works just fine.
I've studied the image and really can't see the haloing Angela speaks of, perhaps my eyes fail me.
That's the thing about nature photography, and photography in general.
It's all subjective when you come down to it..
Nicely done, great catch!
