I really nee to try and get more creative with my titles. Found an assortment of late summer blooms along a creek near Tuolumne meadows.

I like the composition with the selective focus on the central lupine and the natural setting. I might darken the bright OOF lupines and background a bit.

Very pretty. I like the dof, and pof choices. Vibrant color as well.

Jean,
I don't recall commenting on one of your images before so welcome to the Flora Gallery. I like your pov in this and the colors are beautiful. The bg separation isn't working that well for me and I might be tempted to darken some of the bg highlights and desaturate the color a bit in the bg.
This is nice though as posted. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your images.

Thanks so much for the great suggestions. I love wildflowers, but have yet to spend time learning to shoot them effectively. Thanks again!

Jean:
Nice POV and focus on this lupine with a curvaceous stem. The fg looks fine but the bg is a little distracting especially with the bright stone on the left and highlights. Dimming the lights in the bg would probably improve this.
BTW welcome to floral.

Welcome to floral Jean. I really like your composition and subject, but find the BG and foreground somewhat distracting. Maybe a crop just to the top of the OOF blue blooms on the bottom, and darkening of the BG might put this over the top. Great vision and composition.

A lot of good suggestions already, Jean, so I'll just add another, "Welcome to flora!" Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Jean: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post here. Tuolumne meadows is one of my favorite places on the planet and lupines (bluebonnets to us Texans) are my favorite flowers on the planet so you get lots of extra points in my book. This is a delightful little scene and I like the comp and capture as is. Nice find and a good result. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. >=))>
