Snowshoe-hare, I took this shot in Rockies (Bear Lake area) in late November afternoon, me and my wife we were looking for some ptarmigan shots, was almost 4 PM and my wife spotted between branches this beauty, I was lucky enough to take 3 shots before he took off..... It was for us a great day, just to be outdoors in quiet and cloudy snowy day!

Great find. Such a shy and elusive subject. I think the slight patch of brown on the nose adds a nice touch to go with the other warm tones in the ear and the background.

I like the winter setting, great exposure and nice details Verdon.
I especially like the slight head tilt to one side, and the eye contact here.

Adorable indeed Verdon. I like the habitat setting. The incline helps to create a diagonal line that stimulates the composition. I do wish you had included a larger version to enjoy the detail on the hare. It looks like the eyes have good catch lights.
