Photo taken in the Serengeti, Tanzania. Handheld from a vehicle.
Camera: Olympus E300
f-stop: 5.6
Shutter speed: 1/500
Focal length: 200mm
Lens: ZUIKO 50 - 200mm f2.8 - 3.5

This image was not manipulated in any way but resized for this gallery.

This lion cub was laying in the grass only about 6 meters from the road. The mother was nearby but not very happy. Her ears were flat against her head ready to charge.

Great eye contact...can't tell if it is sharp, but it does seem to need some web sharpening.

I like the eye level perspective you managed to achieve Hendrik, this makes it very intimate. That piece of grass overlapping its muzzle is a bit unfortunate, but is only a very minor distraction. I agree that the head region could use some selective sharpening.

Kurt that is about the best comment that I can receive. Thank you.

Though one would not have tried it in this specific setting as the mother was another 10 meters away and her ears were close to her head indicating readiness to charge

That's a lovely pose Hendrik.
Like the low POF that you choose to capture this cute little cat.
Thx for posting
