Goodbye Summer

I've had a short vacation on the Island of Texel, and I was just in time to catch some of the heather in bloom. Sadly I lacked spectacular sunsets, but after a few tries I did get some gorgeous light on the heather itself. Basicaly the only succesfull image I shot all week (not that I tried very hard mind you ;-). After this week, summer was practicaly over.

I really love how the rays of the sun seem to directly illuminate the foreground heather. Nice.
