Hi Bill, When I saw the thumbnail, I had to take a peek. I like this even better than the previous post. Nice job.

The layers look good Bill. I think the comp works well. The upper layer looks significantly cooler than the lower layer. I am not sure if this was an atmospheric condition or just a result of blending, but it almost looks like two different pictures. Anyways, I really like the shot.

The fog along with the treelines has created a wonderful mood in this scene, Bill. While I like this as is, I think an alternate comp of a crop of the two bottom layers of trees simplifies this image and makes it even stronger. Just a suggestion of course. Very nicely done!

Really like the distinct layers created by the fog and trees. The touch of light is icing on the cake and creates a nice warm mood. Great job isolating this with the long lens. Well done.

Hi Bill, Another wonderful image from here. You really worked these conditions for some great shots. The layers here are really nice. I especially enjoy the light in the lower part of this shot. I think Ed's crop suggestion would work great too. I don't think I would replace this one by doing that, just add another comp of this fantastic scene. Nice work Bill.

Like everyone else, I like the layered elements --- fog and trees. A classic example of telephoto landscape shot. Also noticed the cool upper part and the warmer lower part.

That is just too cool. I love the ridge "island" effect.

I like the color version just fine too. The warm light in the first clouds layer is an interesting contrast to the clouds layers further back in the frame. Almost wish there were a bit more of the trees along the bottom edge.

Bill,

Let's stick with the crowd here and say the layering is.... fantastic! Excellent tight comp and it's actually pretty amazing to pull off that sense of layering and depth with such an intimate frame.

Initially I was going to comment on the color difference between the top and bottom, but after looking at this a few times I finally realized, hey dummy, there's warm light on the bottom and no direct light up top. Warm/cool - I get it. And I think that's quite effective with this comp. excellent.

Bill, I appreciate the serene atmosphere reflected in your image. The main area of interest for me is the midground with its delightful and delicate shades and lighting. The background counteracts the lower part nicely to me.

Excellent layers which makes for a nice progression from bottom to top. And the mist laying in between each ridge of trees makes for great texture contrast. Super shot!

Cool layers. Great capture. I've never seen a photo like this before....although, I've never been anywhere, that this scene could be found! neat graduation of sunlight from front to back

I like the colors of the top treeline the best. ... I'm kinda keen on crazy ideas....It would be wicked cool to see a pano of just the top line of trees floating in midair....What do you think? :jump:

Great use of layers here Bill, I like how the fog seems to get thicker with each layer. Nice work! :toast:

As a newbie here I am not the best critique, I know what I like though. And I like this a lot, the layers of mist with the trees poking through formemake a very atmospheric shot indeed.
