Yew Fruits

This is my first post in this gallery.

Yew is one of the most commonly used landscape plants in North America. I don't know how many people have paid attention to its fruits.

I used a piece of black velvet as the background, and put the two fruits on a cheap mirror bought from Walmart. The scene was lit with two studio flash lights with softboxes. A Canon 70-200 F4L @F14 with extension tubes was used.

On the first few pictures I saw a problem: there are double reflections that almost but not completely overlapping each other, ruining the pictures. I realized that one of the reflections was from the base of the mirror, the other from the mirror glass surface. So I added a CPL in front of the lens, which completely remove the reflection from the glass surface.

Thanks for viewing. C&C are appreciated.

Yiming:
Welcome to flora.

On the thumbnail, this looked like mirror image but is clearly not that. The fruits reminds me a bit of "Super Mario' LOL. Very vivid colors and nice lighting.

Thanks Bill and Gary.

Gary: this is indeed a mirror image --- the fruits where placed on a mirror. However the angle is high so the fruits and their reflections are not symmetric.
