This is the road to the summit of Mt. Evans here in Colorado. It is the highest paved auto road in the U.S. I took this last Saturday as the road closes at midnight on Labor Day every year.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

A really nice entry for the challenge and an even greater image on it's own merit. Back in the early 70's we drove up that road to the snow line about 11,000 at that time. Love this shot, Morris

A storytelling image Morris...and a cool entry in this Weeks Challenge.

Great entry Morris, I like the layers of the scene( horizon, the various mountain strings and the rocky summit) and the curved road really sets it off. I gives me a sense of being there. Thank you I enjoy this image.

OH WOW! Love the feeling of the road curving into the distant mountains and the layers of mountains leading off into forever.

Nice image with the layering of the mountains and clouds and how the road looking down on the far mountains and clouds show that you really are "on top of the world"

Now that's a road! This is the first one that I've seen that's basically a switch-
back road. Wondeful patterned layers in the background. This is an excellent
posting to the WC, Morris.

One of these years I'm going to drive this road, although I worry what it might do to my sea level brain  I've seen many photos from Mt. Evans, but usually they are shots which focus on the goats up there. It's nice to see this image which really shows how high up this road is.

Nice view and a very good shot, Morris. I really like the repeating ridge lines with a similar shape as the foreground ridge.

Great shot! The curving road grabs my attention - and it leads the eye right to the summit. From there, my eye follows those beautiful fading peaks into the distance. The depth is just beautiful!
