Took a hike through Connetquot State Park this weekend and was shut out on birds, but did find this nice buck.

f/6.7
1/200s
ISO 1000
-.33 EC

Full frame, NO noise reduction, sharpened in CS5 on 27" iMac

Nice image Luke. You had the buck's attention with great eye contact. A good habitat shot as well. A very handsome animal with newly polished antlers and going through moult from the red summer coat to the grayer winter wardrobe. I miss the white-tails out here in CA.

I really like how he's pinned that one ear back. I don't think he was sure about you. Handsome guy in a nice environment. I like how you've placed him in the frame and how visible he is without taking away from a hiding in the woods feel. A very nice image all around.

Nice antlered buck in some great habitat. I like the transition from greener FG to the more yellowed/golden BG. I'd lighten up the branch running through the antler a touch.

Great use of DOF in this shot. The buck stands out nicely from the FG and BG. Nice and sharp for a handheld image. Good capture Luke!
