These two were from a nice pride of Lions located in the Mara, great fun to watch, as the little cub just kept on crying & complaining, Mother (Mom) just kept on walking behind oblivious it seems to the cub cries. You can't help but think the cub was crying, 'are we there yet?'

Really terrific image Steve. The little cub is so sharp and you captured the crying face just at the right time. The mother behind just slightly and perfectly OOF really completes the story, but doesn't compete with the cub. :toast:

The cub looks great, awesome expressions n great details. The cub appears to be slightly wet.
Ideally, I would have preferred to see mother's ears, but I understand there are tough choices in the field.

Hey Steve,
Really nice choice of DOF here! I like the way mom fades off slightly behind the cub. I don't mind the missing ears although I may eliminate the hint or the brighter areas at the top frame edge. The angle you got is outstanding too!

Hi guys, the ear does worry me as it the cub that draws the attention.

Roman you are correct, just sloppy cropping, BTW I will drop you a line on how to achieve this POV as it is part of a talk I'm giving later this month.

cheers

Lovely sighting and good choice of DOF here. I'm on the fence re the mother's ears as the cub really demands a lot of attention.
I am assuming you were lying down behind the vehicle shooting through the bottom?

Super perspective and the cub looks great. Given the horizontal capture, I think it would look great with just the cub and mother's legs, (enough mother to tell the story and emphasizing the small size of the cub.)

I love this image! Your choice of DOF looks great. Nice look from the cub (especially that face), and I really like the wet fur look. Great job!

I like how you cropped but I also wish for the ears. I think being able to see mom's face adds to the image as her face has a look of tried patience. Love the whinning cub. Excellent image.

I don't think "crying baby" here Steve, I see a cub proclaiming itself to be "king of the trail" (with a little backup provided by mum). NIcely lit, detailed, and colored.

Excellent low angle and the open mouth is great. While I wish the adult was not partially cut off, the little guy (or girl) steals the show

Wonderful perspective and nice use of DOF to make the cub really stand out. Sharp with details where it needs to be with wonderful light to showcase, well done.
